Her blog, Running Commentary, had attacked Malta's prime minister, his chief of staff, and the energy minister, tying offshore companies allegedly linked to them to the controversial sale of Maltese passports and large payments from the government of Azerbaijan. Her posts covered a wide range of corruption, including politicians, banks aiding money laundering, tax evasion, and online gaming firms infiltrated by the mafia. Her family believes that the establishment was out to get her.
